Hi I'm Cory

My journey into occupational therapy began in high school, when I had the opportunity to visit an early intervention center and shadow a pediatric occupational therapist. I was instantly drawn to the creativity, energy, and joy in each session—and I knew then that this was the path I wanted to pursue.

I earned my Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from Towson University in 2013, along with a graduate certificate in Autism Studies. Since then, I’ve dedicated my 12-year career exclusively to pediatrics. After spending eight years practicing in Connecticut, I relocated to Florida in 2021 with my family. Today, I live in Winter Park with my wife and our two sons.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working in a variety of settings, including outpatient clinics, public and private schools, ABA centers, and in clients’ homes. I’ve collaborated closely with speech-language pathologists, physical therapists, board-certified behavior analysts (BCBAs), classroom teachers, and exceptional student education (ESE) coordinators. These partnerships have helped me develop a well-rounded and integrated approach to therapy.

My experience across diverse environments allows me to tailor strategies that meet the unique needs of each setting. I’m passionate about working in pediatrics because it offers the greatest opportunity to support lasting growth and development. I believe in using a fun, patient, and encouraging approach to build strong rapport—helping children feel empowered and supported as they tackle challenges and celebrate their successes.

My Beliefs

Holding hands in shape of heart

The most powerful tool in therapy is rapport. When trust is established, a child is more willing to be challenged and progress more quickly.

Star

Our children are often expected to self-regulate without being taught the strategies to do so. I believe it's important to recommend practical strategies that can be easily carried out by both children and their families.

Superdad with Children

A family should feel confident that they can carry out strategies. Occupational therapy should never feel like a foreign language. I encourage families to ask as many questions so that they feel comfortable throughout the plan of care.

Brainstorming

Family involvement and collaboration leads to faster and long lasting progress. No one knows your child better than you, so your input is invaluable throughout the plan of care.

Why Super Senses OT?

I had a phrase repeated to me many times when I grew up -

"Leave the world a better place than you found it."

For me, this starts with my community. Helping people is not only what I love to do for my work, but my life. What else can be better than helping a child feel more confident in their daily life, and having fun while doing it?
